I love winter colors - soft light, contrast and a muted color palette. While your eye sees dreary gray, the camera sees light and color in a very different way.
Kristan and Andy will be getting married at Armstrong farms in Saxonburg this summer - Andy’s dad owns the farm and bed & breakfast. It’s become a hugely popular location for a unique outdoor wedding with indoor facilities.
There are so many great spots around the farm for photographs. While it’s a challenge to photograph an engagement session and wedding in the same location, I’m really looking forward to their wedding day and a chance to interpret the location in a very different way - it’s so cool!
I hope that Kristan and Andy had as much fun at their session as I had with them.
I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. It was a working holiday for us with 2 weddings, but we managed to take a few days off to spend some time with the kids.
We had 3 beautiful winter weddings in December which I’ll post shortly, but I’ve been totally focused on finalizing all of our albums from our recent weddings.
Devi and Andrew were married in an intimate ceremony and reception at the Fox Chapel Country Club. Devi wore a stunning Maggie Sottero creation from The White Orchid. Like more and more of our clients, Devi and Andrew chose to see each other before the ceremony in a private “first glance” at the club. I took a few photographs and let them spend some time together alone before we walked around the grounds for photographs.
We have clients who have a wide variety of taste, interest and cultural backgrounds. While my personal taste is for a more photojournalistic coverage, I really try to get to know our clients very well before their wedding day and adjust my wedding day coverage to suit their interest, whether that’s more photojournalistic in nature or a mix with family photographs. But, stiff is out - family photographs should be fun, relaxed and reflection of each family member’s personality.
Michael at Blooms Florist did his usual amazing work, Fenoglietto’s designed their cake and Finesse got the crowd jumping.
I hope you enjoy their album.
