I had such a great time with Leann and Jason at their engagement session at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, where they met and where Jason proposed.
Jason surprised Leann with a rose on an engraved brick - a true romantic! You can see the brick in the first slide.
Allegheny College has a beautiful campus which reminded me of Tulane, where I spent my first two years of school. It’s a small campus with 2000 students and a ton of history. It opened it’s doors in 1817 and is among the oldest 1% of all colleges and universities in the US, ranked among the top 50 private schools in the country by Forbes Magazine.
President McKinley attended in 1861 and rumor has it that he carried a cow to the top of the Bentley Hall bell tower.
There are really cool glass sculptures on campus, which we played around with - they’re composed of many individual glass plates that I understand make a fashionable coffee table for your fraternity - no names mentioned.
Barb and I are really looking forward to Leann and Jason’s wedding in September at Nemacolin Woodlands.
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. It’s absolutely beautiful outside - I took Jack for a walk and I’m going to try to stay away from the computer and enjoy the fresh air this afternoon. Barb and I are still “buzzing” from yesterday’s wedding and the start of the season. We had the best time with Shalini and Jim and their friends and family. I’ll have some pictures to share after they return from Hawaii - we’ll be thinking about you.
I’ve been having such a hard time with this gallery’s selections for our new website. I wanted to feature some of our 2008 couples (we have quite a few engagement sessions yet to come) along with a few of my favorites. But, I feel like I missed so many, some weddings of which are archived after completing their albums.
It’s been great fun looking through our files and reminiscing. Barb and I have been so fortunate to have met such terrific people, many of whom we still keep in touch with - through new jobs, moves and babies. We’d love to hear from everyone - drop us an email or note on Facebook.
Thanks to Nicole, one of our brides featured here, for providing the background music.
